Here the Sun is in Leo, its domicile, the sign it rules. The Moon is in Gemini, a masculine, mutable air sign two signs behind Leo in zodiac order. That makes a sextile between a fire sign and an air sign, which Hellenistic astrologers count as easy. The Moon has no domicile, exaltation, detriment or fall in Gemini. The Moon stands roughly 270° to 330° ahead of the Sun along the zodiac, roughly the waning crescent, though sign distance is coarse. Mercury, the planet that rules Gemini, has no dignity in Leo and is the planet to inspect next for the Moon's condition. Under sect, the tradition's sorting of planets into day and night teams, the Moon is a feminine night-team planet. Gemini is a masculine sign, so the genders differ.
A note on “detriment”: the early Hellenistic texts note a planet opposite its own sign without naming it. The term is defined only in late and medieval sources, and scholars disagree on whether the idea was implicit earlier.

Reviewer's notes
Sign-count configurations (Ptolemy I.13, I.16) and Moon-phase ranges (rechecked by arithmetic against the Sun in Leo and the lunar-phase angles) hold. Changed 'easiest' wording to Ptolemy's 'harmonious' where it appeared. Corrected the Moon/Gemini gender wording (feminine Moon, masculine sign: the genders differ).
