The Sun in Leo is in domicile, the sign it rules. The Moon in Taurus is in exaltation, a sign of high honor, so both lights hold a major dignity. Among the twelve Sun-in-Leo pairs, only Leo with Cancer also has that double. By sign, Taurus is three signs behind Leo, a square, the tradition's hard configuration, so the two lights are strong but not in easy contact. The Moon stands roughly 240° to 300° ahead of the Sun along the zodiac, roughly the waning half near last quarter. Sign distance is coarse, so exact degrees matter. Venus, the planet that rules Taurus, has no dignity in Leo. Both signs are fixed, a quality Hellenistic astrologers call solid. The tradition looks to Venus and to the Sun's house next.

Reviewer's notes
Sign-count configurations (Ptolemy I.13, I.16) and Moon-phase ranges (rechecked by arithmetic against the Sun in Leo and the lunar-phase angles) hold. Changed 'easiest' wording to Ptolemy's 'harmonious' where it appeared. 'Only Leo with Cancer has the double' checked against dignities.
